The perfect food to enjoy in winter. Make your own dumplings and enjoy the steam, or fry dumplings or simply make dumpling soup and warming on cold winter days.
The dough can be based on Wheat, Potatoes, Buckwheat or Cassava Flour. And you may be filled with beef, pork, poultry, seafood, cheese, vegetables, fruits or sweets as well.
Today, I would like to introduce the simple and healthy dumpling!
5 dumpling Wrappers
1 lb. ground pork (simply you may take out meat for vegan dumpling!)
4 bunch Korean chives
3 shiitake mushrooms
1 teaspoon mince garlic
1 cup mung-bean sprout
1 Extra-firm tofu for dumpling
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon salt & pepper
1 egg for filling
1 egg white for wrapper
Put tofu on cheesecloth and squeeze it with your hands to strain tofu from its water.
Wash and rinse chives, shiitake mushrooms, onion, mung-bean sprout
Boil water and parboil mung-bean sprouts
Strain and rinse mung-bean sprouts
Chop chives, onion, shiitake mushrooms, mung-bean sprout, strained tofu
Add all the ingredients with an egg and sesame oil and salt and pepper
Deep dumpling wrapper on egg white and scoop one tablespoon of filling on center of dumpling wrapper
Close and squeeze edge of dumpling wrapper firmly with your fingers (thumb & index finger)
