My Story

Welcome to Thrive Health And Beauty!

I’m Angie, a real clean food lover who loves to cook, and a big fan of herbal medicine, living in Southern California. I’m a big advocate of self-care because health is all about balance. I’m also passionate about helping others to experience their transformation, and their gratitude, and their happiness.

So, I created Thrive Health and Beauty to help you through my health coaching sessions and programs. I am studied and trained Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts including Dr. Andrew Weil, a director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, and Dr. Deepak Chopra, the leader in the field of mind-body medicine, and Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center, and Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University, and Geneen Roth, bestselling author and an expert on emotional eating, and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

I'm also a Certified Herbal Medicine Practitioner through Coursera, University of Minnesota, and Certified Child Nutrition and Cooking through, Coursera, Stanford University.

Thrive Health and Beauty is my online practice where you’ll find wholesome sessions of programs. I hope that you’ll be inspired and engaged in more clean foods, and happy to embrace a life that’s a little more simple and far more vibrant.

Previously, I was an executive for design and merchandising. However, I was running the whole nine yards from design to production. My days consisted of long hours, high stress, and poor eating, usually while running between meetings and binge eating and sleep 4 to 5 hours or less daily for years. Wellness was out of my priority, and I sure didn’t understand balance. I was a quintessential workaholic and had to take care of my own family with my children at the same time as a working mom.

I’d use to keep the same weight and use to wear sizes 0 and 2. Then one day, I looked at myself and realized that I’d gained more than 20 lb. and from that day to the next day I've been gaining pounds and pounds every day for years. I’d also often felt tired, fatigued, frequently had headaches, and had to suffer from one symptom virtually after the next.

Then a few years before that I was diagnosed with type 2 prediabetes, I'd also suffered from unknown allergic reactions. Eventually, I realized my work and lifestyle were affecting my health, so I opted for a life do-over. I resigned from my job, and I started to change my lifestyle step by step and add more whole foods to my diet.

After several months off, the dots finally connected, and I learned how to really nourish my body through food and lifestyle. Currently, I’m back to my normal weight and wearing the same size clothes that I’d use to wear, and most of all, my blood sugar level is normal. I feel clean, light, and happy!

I've done it, and I'll continue my journey and so, do you!

My Philosophy

We all living in the 21st century, many things have been changed and changing. Although, one thing that is not and won't change is that we are human beings. What we need to consume is what's growing on the earth. Back to basic, be simple, and natural, and adequate amounts of solid pure water, and clean food with a traditional diet.

As bio-individuals, we all have different dietary needs. There are no one-size-fits-all diets. In fact, the founder of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition Joshua Rosenthal, often said, “One person’s food is another person’s poison.” In other words, no one diet or lifestyle works for two people.

This means adding more whole foods into your diet rather than focusing on removing certain foods. Since food habits form over many years, and food choices often have an emotional component, so simply taking things out of the diet often doesn’t work for a long period of time.

Therefore, I would love to help you to find your bio-individual diet and lifestyle through my program sessions. It is about prevention, not a prescription. What is important and What really matters is not just reaching the destination nor achievement, it is the progress, transformation throughout your journey.

Let's start and moving forward together!
